Portrait Tattoos

Through the years portrait tattoos have always seemed to be a favorite with tattoo enthusiasts. There is just something very special about getting a portrait tattoo. Not to mention if you have an excellent tattoo artist that does outstanding portrait tattoos, you get endless amount of compliments on it. It also opens the door for you explain and share the story behind the person's or animals' portrait you have tattooed on you.
The most common portrait tattoos are of loved ones who have past away as well as a beloved pet and of course your children. Just like with text tattoos, it's not such a great idea to get a lover's portrait tattooed on your body either. One thing you need to keep in mind about portrait tattoos is that they are different than regular tattoos.
Some tattoo artist do not do portrait tattoos because they feel that won't be able to capture the person you are wanting tattooed on you. So the important thing to know is to ask your tattoo artist if they have experience with portrait tattoos and if they are not comfortable doing one. If they are not don't hesitate to ask them to recommend another artist in the studio that is more qualified for the job. Also don't hesitate for a second to let your tattoo artist know if you do not like what they have drawn up. Ask them to be involved in the process, nine times out of ten they want you to be. Always remember to voice your opinion of your tattoo design, if you don't like what they have come up with be honest and let them know. After all you are the one who has to live with the tattoo not them.

Phoenix Bird Tattoo - Symbolic Beauty

The tattooing world has very few favorites. Phoenix bird is one of them. Do you know where this interesting picture comes from? What is the symbolic significance of this awesome picture? We will look at the reasons this bird design has become one of enduring symbols of time.

Mythology says that the Phoenix is a creature that rises from its own ashes after burning down. The name itself originated from the Greek word for "red", the universal color of fire. Being the bird of fire, Phoenix can be aptly used to symbolize a person's inner fire and zest for life. The rage for the Phoenix bird tattoos has started a few years back. The Phoenix bird epitomizes the rebirth and resurrection from the ashes. You can use this symbol if you have had a tough patch in life and successfully overcame it.
It is fairly easy to draw the Phoenix bird tattoos which are normally painted in bright and lucid colours that represent life. The uniqueness of a phoenix bird design lies in its different interpretation by different people. You can very easily personalize a phoenix bird tattoo to highlight emotions close to your heart. You just need to tell a good tattoo artist what you want to depict with your tattoo and he or she will easily give you the best.

Jewish legend says that the phoenix was the bird that refrained from eating the forbidden fruit of paradise, set itself on fire but rose from the ashes three days later. The Phoenix bird was also considered to be the representation of the rising and setting of the sun. However later on it was widely accepted as the symbol of resurrection of life. Originally ones were just beauty symbols. Of late, they have become a medium to express ones life experiences and emotions. Therefore, the Phoenix bird designs have attained big popularity. Keeping in line with this, the tattoo artists have creatively designed many forms of the Phoenix bird tattoo.
The emergence of the Phoenix Bird tattoo as a popular one is not documented well but people believe that it has its origins in the Far East. Men like to have a phoenix bird picture on their arms, while the ladies normally prefer to have it on their lower back or on their belly. There are people who consider Phoenix to be the symbol of the devil and that pagans expressed their love for Satan through the phoenix. In the vastly popular Harry Potter series, the phoenix has been depicted as the bird that has healing powers. This is more in line with the symbolic meaning of Phoenix, the resurrection. In the chronicles of Narnia too, a phoenix is pictured saving one of the characters from imminent danger.
Historically the phoenix was used not just as a tattoo. It was also printed on the coins by the ancient Romans, who believed that it would ensure the longevity of the Roman Empire. No matter what the reason, the phoenix tattoo designs are beautiful and at the same time have definite, deeply held symbolic significance. Therefore, these designs are, like diamonds, forever.

Miley Cyrus Has First Tattoo All Planned Out

The Disney star can't seem to keep herself out of scandals and she is only 16 years old. First it was the topless photo shoot that caused some much drama, even though she had a bed sheet covering herself and all you could see what her back. She is also involved in a law suit regrading all the Asians in CA , due to a photo of her pretending she was Asians. She is also ridiculed for her close relationship to her father, well one more thing can be added to that list, a tattoo.
Miley is not quite of age to get a tattoo just yet but that hasn't stopped her from wanting to get one. Like most girls Miley's age they want a tattoo. Well it seems Miley has already picked out what she wants as her first tattoo and to the seasoned tattoo person its the ultimate tattoo no no. This tattoo design that Miley has picked out is not the wisest of tattoo design. She wants to get the initials of her 20 year old boyfriend, Justin Gaston.
One would think that her parents Billy Ray and Tish would put their foot down and advise their daughter that getting the initials of a boyfriend who is more than likely just a teenager love affair is not the best idea. But it seems Billy Ray and Tish are ok with this because of a new tattoo ink that has come out that promises to be more effective when you want to get one removed by a laser. Either way getting tattoos removed is painful and expensive. It's best to just skip the whole boyfriend initials thing and get a butterfly or a heart tattoo instead.

Celebrity Tattoos - Katy Perry Tattoo

When one thinks of the, I kissed a girl singer the last thing that comes to their mind is tattoos. This is the best thing about tattoos. People who you would never think to have one has one. This also just goes to show that the stereotype on tattoos couldn't be more wrong. It is usually those shy, good girls from next door that have a secret love for tattoos. With that being said, Katy Perry does have a tattoo of her own and it just so happens to be in a rather visible place.

Katy has a tattoo on her left wrist. Her tattoo is a text tattoo, that simply says Jesus in black ink. No word on why Katy decided to get this tattoo. But there you have it she does have one. There have also been some rumors that she has a lip tattoo on her back somewhere. However, Katy does not rule out the possibility of getting another tattoo. It seems that the hot and cold singer, has been hot and cold about getting a tattoo of Freddie Mercury on her back. Katy has once stated that she looks up the former front-man of Queen and completely idolizes him. She shared that she once almost got a huge tattoo of Freddie's face on her back, but says she decided against at the last minute. She says she is glad she didn't do it but on the flip side she still has an urge to get this tattoo on her back. So it is pretty safe to say that this pin up style singer will more than likely add to her tattoo collection one day.
